  • Marijuana Decarboxylation: Why is it so important?

Why marijuana decarboxylation is so important?

Decarboxylation - that sounds scary. In this way, however, a very simple process is defined, which you probably already had before. This is basically a simple heating of marijuana, which is necessary if you want the specialties prepared by you to have this power.

If you have ever started a marijuana joint or used a vaporizer for its consumption, be aware that in the past you have already had cannabis under the decarboxylation process. It is very simple, but necessary to achieve the intended effect, especially if we talk about the use of our favorite plant in the kitchen.

Without a decarboxylation process in the right way, our food with the addition of marijuana will not have the desired psychoactive effect. Cannabis contained in marijuana will not be activated. If you are baking something with the addition of marijuana, this process will occur to some extent by itself, as decarboxylation is called heating the dried fruit at the right temperature for a sufficient amount of time (when burning or vaporizing it takes place immediately). We, however, recommend that before using cannabis in any way in the kitchen, first subject them to this process, so that in effect you will use all their potential.

This is the decarboxylation process that this article is dedicated to.

    DECARBOXYLATION: WHAT IS IT?

Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that occurs in cannabis under the influence of high temperature. During this process, the carboxylic acid group is removed from the composition of the herb, making it much stronger in action. It is the presence of this group in the marijuana composition that causes, for example, eating it raw, you will not feel the effects of its operation too much. It is a kind of blocker of the psychoactive properties of cannabis.

So it's all about the chemical composition of the plant. For the same reason, the herb is dried before it can be ignited / boiled / vaporized. Activate marijuana at some point is necessary to feel the full effects of its effects. Under the influence of temperature, the carboxylic acid group is removed and there is a change in the chemical composition of the substance THCA, which in effect becomes a psychoactive THC.

    How to properly decarboxylate cannabis?

First, grind your marijuana thoroughly, then spread it as much as possible on a baking tray lined with baking paper or aluminum foil.

Once you have it evenly distributed over the entire surface of the plate, place it in the oven preheated to 110 ° C and let it sit for about sixty minutes. This is a generally accepted standard, but you can shorten this time by heating the oven to a higher temperature. It is believed, however, that prolonged heating at a lower temperature gives the best results and nothing during the process then wastes.

Why is the consumption of marijuana works differently than smoking?
Food is a great way to feel the full power of marijuana without any negative side effects. Due to the absorption of THC through the digestive system instead of the lungs, the herb is metabolized in the liver and as a result 11-hydroxy-THC is formed, an even stronger substance with much better permeability across the blood barrier in the brain.

While smoking marijuana, THC hits straight to the head and the haj is immediate, but often much less intense and lasts shorter than when eating it. The phase after eating food with the addition of marijuana can last up to six hours or more, depending on the adopted dose and is often very psychedelic.

If at the thought of it still does not bother you in the stomach, I do not know what is wrong with you.

In addition, as more and more people experiment with marijuana in the kitchen, you do not have to limit yourself to the most popular pastries such as cupcakes or cakes. There is also the option of drinking a simple cake with a steaming cup of marijuana coffee or herbal tea.

Drinks may seem like a new way of consuming more and more popular marijuana, but tea made of it is brewed by people for thousands of years.

Mixing a spoon of hemp butter (butter with decarboxylated marijuana) in tea has been used for centuries in India during religious ceremonies or as a remedy for a number of ailments. Is there a better recommendation than a centuries-old tradition?
